"With these two long-form pieces, Facetoucher continues the radical sonic explorations that he began at the start of the pandemic, refining his lung-powered practice to explore the dualities brought into focus by breath-transmitted disease. The breath, so central in bringing us life, now brings us death. The same organ we use to kiss now also kills. Sharing is no longer always caring. As the double-edged sword of the breath has had a light shined upon it by the pandemic, so too Facetoucher's experiments shine a light on the complex dualities of mouth-powered sound, from the delicate to the crushing, from the pretty to the overwhelming, from the structured to the chaotic. The idea of an inward breath inviting the universe into one's body, and the outward breath sending one's self out into the universe, perfectly symbolises the lessons learnt during these first few years of the pandemic - that none of us is truly alone, that all of us are deeply, deeply connected.
